Having problems with your Gateway PC Desktops ?

Monitors won't work with Gateway Desktop

\015 I have an older Gateway esx 500x that came with the purchase of the business. It did not come with a monitor. When I hook up one of my monitors, I get no signal. I have tried multiple monitors that I know work but I cannot get any one of them to work. What could be wrong with the PC that doesn't send an output to the monitor?\015

The video adapter has probably gone to it's reward. Some Gateways have the adapter built onto the motherboard. Some have separate video cards plugged into the motherboard.
Pop the case open and check to see if the connector for the monitor is attached to a card stuck in a slot on the motherboard, or wired directly to the motherboard.
If it's a removable card, remove the screw holding it in and pull it out. Go get another card that has the same type of connector (gold pins) on the bottom.
If the video is wired to the motherboard take the computer, or a photo of the slots on the motherboard, to a computer shop and buy or borrow a card that will at least get you up and running.
You might pull a compatible card from another machine, but don't invest $$ in a new adapter until you are sure that the video problem is the only thing standing between you an a good, usable machine.
Do you see anything on the monitor at all when you boot up? If not, then the graphics card or onboard video is bad. If you have onboard video, then you just need to purchase a graphics card that will go into an available graphics slot inside your PC. If you have a graphics card already in there, then it will need to be replaced. If you can see the boot up screen but stops displaying video when you go into windows, then the resolution is set outside of your monitors capabilities; you will need to boot into safe mode, then reset the resolution to 800 x 600 and reboot; then you can set it to perform within your monitor's capability.
