Having problems with your Gateway MT6840 Notebook PC ?

Gateway MT6840 freezes during boot and does not load windows

\015 I get an option to "Launch Start-up Repair" or "Start Windows Normally"but neither option works after repeated efforts.I tried getting into the BIOS and that does not load either. There is no "Safe Mode" option offered either.I tried using F2, F8, F10 and F11 and these all culminate in the same two options mentioned above.I tried a cold boot from the start-up CD/rescue CD that came with the laptop but that also failed.All of the above attempts ended up with a blank screen with nothing on it and it just hangs there and does nothing for hours on end.I suspected my hard drive had failed and tried connecting it to a USB2.0 port on my desktop using a SATA connection kit to see if I could read it and back-up my data. (It's a Western Digital WD1600B EVS 160GB hard drive). This worked and I was able to save my data but this then rules out a hard drive failure which leads me to believe it's a motherboard/processor issue perhaps...or scrambled BIOS???!!!HELP...suggestions anyone?\015

I just purchased the new gateway netbook lt series and I have problems with the touchpad. Sometimes it does not even load and then when it does load it will be working and then just freeze up.
