Having problems with your Gateway FX7026 PC Desktop ?

\015 My fx7026 ran fine for 14 months then other day on the post screens I got several zeros all over the screen. It would not boot beyond the boot screen with the windows progress bar zipping away. I did notice the the progress bar had some odd colors to it. I was able to boot into safe mode. Ran virus scan, check updates and other logs... nothing jumpped out at me. I pulled the graphics card and switched to the intergrated graphic. The zeros on the post screens went away. After about 30 minutes of "windows has detected new hardware", finally the computer booted normally... Well almost normally so far my quickest boot time in the last 2 days has been 8 minutes... I've noticed that my system tray icons seem to vary now... sometimes almost all items are there other times it looks like a ghost town with only a few there. every thing seems very random... I have had on some reboots had the integrated graphics not load properly which leaves me stuck on a 4:3 aspect ratio on a 16:10 monitor, then the next time it loads fine. The ntbtlog.txt has not recorded the last few reboots no matter what I do so I can't see if various drivers are conflicting on boot. I'm stuck between two theories right now... a) the graphics card went bad and now windows is having issues booting because the start up restore (on a few boots it has done the startup restore) still has the graphics card rather than the integrated graphics. b) it is actually a problem with the motherboard. Removing the graphics card got rid of the Zeros and allowed the computer to boot however since I am still having random issues within windows (i.e. my system tray) ... certian hardware may not be seen which is causing random drivers to load or not load causing the slow boot times. I'd hate to replace the graphics card only to find out that a new graphics card doesn't fix the issue. Any ideas.\015
You've run the antivirus. Next, try to run malware & spyware programs. THen, run a good registry cleaner. This will aim the right things with the right things. If you made ANY changes to hardware, software, programs or data, there will be changes in your registry.
