Gateway 7510GX CPU Fan noise

\015 I have a Gateway 7510GX Laptop with about 100 hours use on it.Recently it has developed a loud noise in the CPU fan. It sounds like something (like a piece of paper) is hitting the fan blades, giving a classic "playing card in the bicycle spoke" sort of sound. Before I start randomly removing all the exposed screws in the hope of gaining access to the heatsink-fan assembly, I wonder if anyone can post a service manual or walk-through link on how to properly disassemble the 7510GX.Thank you\015

Answers :

If this is a brand new laptop it would be still under warranty.
\015\012I suggest returning it to the supplier for repair under warranty because if you attempt to repair it you could void your warranty.
\015\012You should only attempt repairs after the warranty has expired.

The computer sounds like it's racing. It speeds up and slows down. It's not the normal sound, it's been doing this for about two weeks and I cleaned the dust out of the fans that I could get to.

If the PC is a few years old, the bearing on the fans might be failing, causing more noise. The speeding/slowing is because the temperature sensors on the motherboard, fan, or case are telling the fans what speed to go for more or less cooling. ... PC Desktops
