E-machines desktop PC will not power up at all

\015 We were given an older e-machines desktop computer with a standard tower. It worked fine for a month or two, but then one day we went to use it and the power up button does not even work. The power source is fine, but no sounds, no nothing. Help.\015\012\015\012Wow I have the same problem too!!! I didnt use it for a while & then when i tried to switch it on.... nothing! I did hear very faint click every time i tried (&I tried lots), A friends b-friend, who used to work in a private pc shop had a look at it, he reckons it is the processor & that i need a new one, but he has since then turned out 2b a waste of space, so will try a new power supply first, i think!! \015

I had two e-machines. Both of them had p.supply failures. One of them, the ps took out the motherboard. The other one, I recognized the problem and replace it b4 I kept turning it off and on (I think thats what took out the motherboard) I bought a new motherboard and used the same processor from the old motherboard and that computer is still working till this day....(5yrs) mtg
