EMachine T3120 keeps rebooting

\015 After loading a copy of Norton Virus protection my computer would not boot up. I then tried to restore it to a previous known operating point, but couldn't because there were no previous points listed. I then tried to do a system recovery with what I believed to be the correct recovery disk made for my computer. The disk seemed to load but continues to reboot in a loop. Those anyone have thoughts on what might be occurring and a fix for it? Also if I don't have the right recovery disk or a hard copy of windows XP home edition to reload is there a web site that I can visit to download the proper software?\015

Answers :

The first time that you run the XP install, when the computer boots you will see "press any key to boot from cd". Do that, let Windows load it's files, etc., then it reboots by itself. When that happens and the computer is starting back up DO NOT respond to the "press any key to boot from cd". Just let it go and Windows will continue by itself. You are not the first or the last to have that problem.
If this does not solve you problem, please do not rate this post until other solutions have been explored, as hardware issues can cause the same problem(s), but try this first.
If you have the wrong disk, there isn't much recourse other than buying a new disk :-(
You can manually download drivers from eMachine's site: http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html

The operating system, you'll need a disk...and product key.

Sounds like a reformat may be your only option at this point. How far will the machine boot up? Can you boot up in safe mode?
