Touchpad too sensitive

\015 My Dell Vostro, Windows XP, touchpad moves itself, selects text and deletes emails when I've hardly touched it. I went to the touchpad settings screen and set it to act only when I click, and to minimum sensitivity, but that did not help. How can I fix it?\015

Answers :

I have a Dell Vostro also..awesome units..but that's another subject..unfortunately the area you changed is the only place to manipulate the touchpad. What I ended up doing was buying a USB wireless mouse. Now I can control it and it doesn't have a mind of its own..it just a little glitch in the computer make-up...sorry couldn't provide a better answer but this time there is no better answer. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

If the battery is charging it's fine and also there is no problem when the laptop is running from the battery. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year 2010! Alan
