Having problems with your Dell Studio Slim-Tower Desktop Computer ?

My monitor says there is no signal from my new Dell Studio

\015 I just got a new Studio 540 and Dell S1909 monitor connected via a blue VGA cable (all the equipment was supplied together by Dell). Although I've disconnected and reconnected them many times, the monitor keeps going straight into power-safe mode when I switch it on, and when I press the monitor menu button it says ''there is no signal from your computer''. Moving the mouse and keyboard doesn't help. I've tested the monitor, mouse and keyboard on my old PC: they're all fine. When I put my old monitor on the new PC, same problem. The new computer is powering up fine (the green power light at the back lights up, the fan runs, and the start button shows steady white - supposedly meaning it's running OK). Any good ideas really appreciated!! The Dell support website isn't a lot of help....\015

I had the same problem and i used the DVI cable and it worked! The VGA slot on the computer was covered and it had a x on it. Maybe they didn't want us to use it...

I have the same problem, no signal deteced on my monitor when I connected through VGA.

Solution: use the VGA to DVI converter provided and connect it to your DVI port.
