Dell 1600SC Server - trying to install a video card

\015 I am trying to installa video card in my Dell 1600SC server, in order to convert it to a workstation. I have installed windows XP successfully.\015\012\015\012The docs say that inserting a video card in a PCI slot, the BIOS will automatically recognise and send the video signal to the card. It actually seems to shut down the onboard video, but the signal does not seem to get to the new card.\015\012\015\012I tried to install a PNY 8300 PCI, which would display the bootup screen, but went blank when Windows tried to start.\015\012\015\012I traded it for a PNY 6400 PCI (at recommendation of local store tech), which doesn't seem to even receive the bootup signal. The card is ok, as I tried it in another machine.\015\012\015\012Any suggestions?\015

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 and its a little over a year old. It started acting funny about a month ago. It will work fine for about 5 minutes then it goes to a screen with different colored bars and i have to restart it again. I bought a new battery thinking that was the problem but that hasnt solved anything. HELP

Hey there,Colored bars make me think of hardware failure of the 1)screen or the 2)graphics card. Both of these, on a laptop, are going to mean sending it in for repair, out of warranty, and paying their rate, which maybe 150 bucks or more. Now ... Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

I have an issue with the Dell PowerEdge 1800 video card. It displayed all the garbages (unreadable words) on the monitor when I first booted up or in the Windows 2003 OS.
