Having problems with your Dell PC Desktops ?

My computer speaker wire has a short.

\015 The green plug has a short right at the green plug ''strain relief'' section on the back of the plug. I have another new double ended wire; can I just cut the end off the bad wire, and cut the new wire in half and splice the two together? Are the internal wires color coded so I can match them up?\015

Answers :

The audio cables normally have only two wires in them, one being shielded the other not. You should be able to splice the two together to fix the problem, if there is no colour coding you wont cause any damage to anything if you get them back to front the first time round guessing.
