Having problems with your Dell OptiPlex GX260 PC Desktop ?

I have a Dell Optiplex GX 260 that will not boot. I get two beeps and a message to press F1 to retry or F2 for setup. Also, back panel diagnostic lights are A.B,C green, D amber. Any ideas?

Try to set it to boot first in cdrom in bios setting then place a bootable cd in cd drive that will run in DOS mode. If this boots up with a command prompt. Then your hard drive has a fault, could be a corrupt files or missing files.

What exactly is in the message? It is important because this refers to "other failure" and it can be a bunch of stuff easily.

Try to use another keyboard and disconnect all peripherals except the keyboard. does it boot now?
if not type the message it shows on the screen...
