Having problems with your Dell OptiPlex 740 PC Desktop ?

I have a yellow vertical central line just appeared on my Dell monitor. Does anyone have a solution?

In diagnosing most computer Problems, especially if its with Monitors or other plug ins its best done by process of elimination.
\015\012First try replacing Monitor with one you know works OR plugging monior into another Computer that works.
\015\012If you still get the line in the first case with a known good monitor then its most likely the Video Card in the Computer. First Try Going to "SYSTEM" /Device Manager and see if the "Video Driver" is Still there, Try downloading it again in either case from the Dell Website.
\015\012IF that does not work then
\015\012If Monitor has same problem in "Good" computer check Cable and Change if you have a spare. If still has problem it is a defective Monitor and at that point it does not pay to repair.
\015\012In the first case if Both Monitors do not work properly then Replace the Video Card; that is most likely the problem.
\015\012Hail Mary: If Monitor does not work in the "good computer" there is an off chance that the cable is defective or they adjustments are off. Try resetting the Monitor Controls to DAFAULT ..
\015\012If you cant use another computer or Monitor your best bet is to replace the Video Card; its most likely the problem; suggest you do so with a superior card so if you still have the problem and decide to replace the Monitor you'll at least have a better Video Card *shrug* :)
