Latitude D810 freezes, hard to turn off
\015 I have a four year old Dell Latitude D810 that I am assuming has hardware going bad. It will freeze then will be hard to turn off. I took it to a hardware/repair place to be told it was a virus TWICE to the tune of $200+ dollars only for it to happen again for no good reason. They said there were no hardware problems I've reformatted twice and still have the same issues. Is this just a harddrive/motherboard failing? Please advise!!!\015
In order for your computer not to slow down or have hardware falure you need to use programs to clean all the junk files and the registry and clean the virus's with a antivirus and clean the spyware and malware, make sure its not overheating too you need to get a cooling pad with fans in it so it doesnt overheat when using it that makes it last longer too you have to clean it like every other week or it will fill up with junk files registry errors and virus's make sure you do that and your computer should run faster and last longer its just like anything else you need to clean it for it to work properly
Sorry the tech shop jerked you around. Honestly it sounds like a bad hard drive with the weird freeze ups.\015\012\015\012Best thing to do, get a new hard drive put in there then go ahead and install the operating system on it and then get the drivers installed and any apps on it. Keep in mind that bad sectors on a hard drive will cause lockups to happen and since you already formatted the drive twice already and redid the system. I would lean toward a new hard drive.\015\012\015\012Now if after the new hard drive is put in you still get lockups then it could be the motherboard.\015\012\015\012Before going the motherboard route and after installing a new hard drive. Make sure that the air vents in your laptop are free of dust and debris. \015\012\015\012One more thing, check your laptop out and see how warm or hot the laptop is when it freezes up on you cause a bad fan can cause that.

I own a Dell Latitude XP2 Tablet Notebook. It has been working fine for over a year until recently. Now it's been freezing on me after a little bit of use. Sometimes I can use my computer for about 15 minutes, sometimes over an hour. I don't know what I should do. I'm not sure if my fan is not working right or what. I notice that there is a light next to the battery charge light that turns off, and that's when I notice the computer freezing. What is that light?
