Having problems with your Dell Inspiron E1705 Notebook ?

Dell laptop (E1705). Battery won't charge. Battery is charged to 7% (therefore I can't flash the bios.) If I unplug the AC Adapter, I get the warning that the battery is low. BUT the laptop remains powered up (therefore the OS "sees" and uses the battery). The Battery icon in the task bar shows the "AC Plug" icon when plugged in. The icon switches to the battery when the adapter is unplugged; BUT THE BATTERY ICON has a red X thru it. When it worked properly, the icon would show a lightning bol

Try hitting Fn+F2 - that worked for me - it's a BIOS setting that disables battery charging.
