Having problems with your Dell Inspiron B130 Notebook ?

\015 I have a dell inspiron b130.I installed a new harddrive but it it not reconized it in the bios.cd-rom works fine. I have it set to boot to cd-rom and have tried to install windows xp and it loads a lot of start up files then comes up with an error message saying a problem has been detected and windows shutdown to prevent damage.check for virus etc. or remove any newly installed harddrives or harddrive controllers\015\012stop ox0000007b (oxf899063c,ox00000034,ox00000000,ox00000000 \015\012Is the motherboard bad or what please help???\015

If the HDD is not recognized in the BIOS, windows will not be able to install on that drive. Did you move the HDD interposer from the old drive to the new one? (t is a small adapter that plugs on to the pins of the drive.) If you did, reinstall the interposer on the old drive, ensure it still works. If neither drive functions, then you may have a bad motherboard.
\015\0120x0000007B normally occurs when you try to install an older version of WIndows XP on a system with a newer HDD controller and the XP CD doesn't have the correct driver for the HDD controller. So if you get an error like this after getting the HDD to be recognized by the bios, then you may need the HDD controller driver too.
