Having problems with your Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook ?

Blue screen when I close the top of my laptop or shut it off

\015 A few days ago I closed the top of my laptop (DELL inspiron 9300). When I opened it back up I had a blue screen Error code as follows:\015\0120X0000008E 0XC0000005 0X0805BC07 0XB9B6653C 0X0000000. So I shut it off. Next day same thing when I shut top of my puter, so tonight, I thought I would shut it off and see what happens. It wont shut off. It starts powering down and the same blue screen same error codes. Otherwise..no problem. I added a broadband a few days ago but I was already using it on my laptop all last month and never had a problem. I have not added anything new or changed any programs. \015\0121 more thing, when it sends error info \015\012(this is what shows up once I restart it)\015\012(BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : 805BCD07 BCP3 : B9DA2A50\015\012BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1 ) \015\012to microsoft, I get error saying : \015\012http://watson.microsoft.com/dw/dcp.asp?CLCID=1033&EXENAME=generic&BRAND=WINDOWS\015\012application not found. \015\012Any help or suggestions or tell me what the error codes mean(ive tried to look them up and can only find the 1st set). would be awesome!!!!!!!!!\015\012Thanks Crystle\015

This error relates to video drivers. to fix this. restart your computer and as soon as you see dell keep tapping the F8 key in the top row to get advanced boot options. and then select "Enable VGA Mode" and press enter 2 times. then the computer should start and then do a system restore. to do system restore.
\015\012There are two ways to perform a System Restore in Microsoft Windows. The choice only depends on if the computer is currently able to boot into Windows or not. If the computer is able to get to the desktop (with the clickable start
in the lower left corner), then choose Method 1. If the system is unable to boot to the desktop or otherwise is unable to complete a system restoration using the selection above, then choose Method 2.
\015\012Method 1 Able to Access the Desktop.

Method 2 Unable to Access the Desktop.
1 Turn off the computer.
\015\0122 Turn on the computer and press the F8 key every other second until the Windows Advanced Options window appears.
\015\0123 Press the <Down Arrow> key on the keyboard and select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
\015\0124 Press the <Enter> key on the keyboard.
\015\0125 Log in as the administrator or as a user with administrator rights.
\015\0126 At the command prompt (blinking cursor), type:

\015\012If Windows XP has been reinstalled to a different location on this computer, change C:\\Windows to the new path.
\015\012If this doesnot work...then we need to reset the computer back to factory settings.
Restoring the original factory image erases ALL existing data. This includes files, folders, programs, drivers, E-mails, photos. Before performing a PC Restore, back up all personal files. If you do not back up your personal files, the data will be lost.
1 Turn on the computer.

\015\0124 When a warning message appears stating that all data will be lost, click Confirm, or press <Tab> to highlight Confirm and then press <Enter>.
\015\012The Progress window will appear. Once the restore process starts, Dell PC Restore by Symantec usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes to finish.
\015\012When the restore process is complete, the following message will appear:
The system recovery process was successful.
\015\0125 Click Finish or press <Tab> to highlight Finish and then press <Enter> to restart the computer.
\015\012The software is now installed as it was when the computer was first received.
