The noise is a hum or buzz. We've narrowed it

\015 We set up a audio system every few months at a local dance activity. We use JBL loud speakers with mixers and mike setup with music played through our Dell laptop. We experience a hum or buzz through the speakersthat is quite annoying. We've tried a few noise filters with no improvement. We've narrowed it down to the laptop because when we shut the laptop off the noise disappears. No noise when using a CD player. Are we missing a step in the setup or do we need new equipment? \015\012\015\012Looking for help in Hawaii.\015\012\015\012Aloha.\015

Answers :

\015\012By chance have you tried making sure the laptop is not too close to the speakers? Sometime you will get feedback when the source is to close to high powered speakers. Also, check your jack cord and make sure no splits/cuts are visiable and the plugs are fully inserted.
\015\012Good Luck and keep making great music. Aloha.
