Dell Inspiron 6000 will not connect to internet

\015 Dell Inspiron 6000 was infected with a virus and malware. Said malware and virus were removed with Avg software and spybot S&D. Two days later, computer connects to router, is assigned an appropriate Ip address. Yet, will not connect to the internet wired or wireless. It worked without issue, untill just two days after infections were removed. This is a coworkers computer, and has been attempted to connect to multipul wireless and wired network connections. It shows as though connecting normally, its even assigned a proper Ip address. Connection to the internet is somehow not possible. The only firewall I've detected is windows' firewall. I've disabled it with no results. I"ve even gone as far as reinstalling drivers. Still nothing. Short of restoring the whole computer to factory defaults. Any ideas ?\015

Answers :

It is still possible that it is infected
\015\012whilst AVG and S&D are good I dont know of any security product that "does it all"
\015\012I would reccomend "superantispyware" and "malwareantibytes"
\015\012download them to a usb drive and install them to the affected computer and run them
\015\012Set any setting to scan as deep and as many items as possible
\015\012It is also concievable that a virus or trojan has taken over some of the network settings and possibly the "HOSTS" file
\015\012Another program to download and run would be "hijackthis"
\015\012That program can save a log file which can be posted to particular web sites. On these sites are people who know how to disect that log and tell you what to remove and how.
\015\012If this information was useful please click
Try download the program CCleaner and clean registry entries.
then try using another Anti virus software such as Avast. the next step if this doesn't work is to backup essential files and format the hard drive and reinstall Windows and the drivers for the WIFI. Also see if when you do ipconfig /all that it doesn't say "media disconnected" this means that the drivers have not been installed properly. check NIC card to see if it is working properly. Next uninstall the NIC reinstall.
