Having problems with your Dell Inspiron 1720 Notebook ?

Dell 1720 screen

\015 Dell 1720 laptop screen "blooming". looks like too much voltage to screen. 2nd output to TV is fine. Pre windows screen shows vertical lines across entire screen. occurs during POST so is not windows/driver related. inverter or screen issue? Thanks.\015

Answers :

If you can see the vertical lines during POST, try to check the vertical lines in BIOS. If the vertical lines are there in BIOS, the only thing you can do is to replace your LCD screen.

I have a Foxconn LS-36 Revision A01 Motherboard. The Model number is: CN-OGC375-13740-5AG-00CU. (The first O might be a 0). At any rate this MB is on a Dell XPS 600 unit, which has died and I have a Raid 0 Array in there as my Data Drive. My question is, what chipset does this unit use, so I can find a compatible MB to replace it with. I'd like to keep my RAID 0 Array and I'm fairly sure if I go with a different chipset, the RAID 0 Array won't get reconstructed

My Dell OptiPlex GX 520 has frozen. It runs Windows XP. Here in the UK, we have had a cold snap in what the papers are calling "The Coldest Day". Dunno if that's got anything to do with it. The bootup screen came on, and the bar filled nearly up to the top, but then froze there. I left it for five minutes
