Having problems with your Dell Dimension 9100 PC Desktop ?

Blue Screen Issues

\015 Dell\015\012Dimension 9100 Blue Screen\015\0120X00000024,00190293,86FA5B30,C000102,00000000. I tried to reinstall XP\015\012from CD and it says unable to locate Hard drive. Replaced Hard drive\015\012and tried again, same message. Ran setup. Hard drive is there ans well\015\012as CD Rom. Ran diagnostics for Blue Screen and Hard Drive, all passed.\015\012I'm thinking bad motherboard. Any thoughts?\015

Since you are using Dell Dimension 9100 ran a memory diagnostic for the blue screen. If you have 2 memory modules ,try reseating memory module and using 1 memory module to boot the system and then try to reinstall OS. If issue persist then replace memory with a different memory module, boot the system using dell resource cd or create bootable cd in DOS. \015\012The using windows XP reinstallation cd try to reinstall OS.

Can nit be the motherboard cause you would not be able to boot at all ...probably it was just a real bad virus that affect something ..try to reinstall it clean...first remove the hdd and see it it boots to bios and if it sees the RAM memory ...and even so ..try to get from somewhere some suitable ram memory and replace teh old one ...just to see how it behaves....in most cases I run into when they blow me out and gave blue screen without explanations it was some issues with the ram memory ...so ...first just borrow some of the same size and frequency and see if it boots up ...it might surprise you in a positive way ...
