Answers :

You will have to either repair the connection with a soldering iron, replace it (which means finding a connector from another board and desoldering that one, then desoldering yours and installing the good one), or simply change to a USB keyboard.

By far the easiest thing to do is change to a USB keyboard. You could also use a simple USB to PS2 converter if you don't wish to change keyboards, the converter would simply allow you to plug your keyboard into a USB slot on your computer.

What would cause my computer keyboard to suddenly stop working? I have a 3 year old MicroExpress Desktop computer which was just moved to a different location (which leads me to believe that a circuit board simply needs to be reseated). My mouse is working fine. Initially, I assumed that my keyboard was bad, so I purchased another keyboard, but that did not solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave

Could be a bad keyboard connector plug on the board. It may have been damaged when it was disconnected from the port due to force or maybe static. You could try opening up the computer case and check to see if the port is loose or a solder connection ... PC Desktops

My HP Pavilion dv9005us has two issues which I cannot resolve. The wireless device is not even recognized or detected by the computer, and there seems to be an electrical problem where the lighted buttons at the top flicker on and off from time to time, which may also be linked to an issue where the computer will at times refuse to turn on after I press the on button and watch it all light up in response and immediately shut off. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
