Having problems with your Dell Computer Monitors ?

Dell E173FP Monitor requires unplugging/plugging back in to wake

\015 I have a Dell Dimension E310 with an E173FP monitor and am using a Dell wireless keyboard and mouse. I am having monitor issues. I tried calling Dell and there pat answer for everything is to restore my computer back to factory settings. I am not wanting to do this yet as it seems the monitor settings could be the problem or something else (like energy saver) and it shouldn't require this drastic of a measure.My monitor will not wake up by moving the mouse nor hitting the space bar after it goes into energy saver mode. I have to unplug the monitor from the outlet and wait 13 seconds and plug it back in. If it goes to the Dell Screen, I have to repeat the unplugging procedure again until it finally wakes up and shows my desktop. When the monitor is on the power light is green. When it goes into power saver mode it goes amber. Hitting the mouse used to turn the light back to green and the monitor back on, but now it makes the power light go off thus causing the need for the unplugging/repluggin in ritual. Anyone care to help? I have checked the cord by switching it with my power cord to the computer-- not that. I have checked power surge by plugging directly into an outlet-- not that. I suspected a setting, but I don't know what else to check there nor how to check if it is something with energy saver, etc. Thanks in advance.\015

Perhaps your computer is hibernating instead of going into standby which takes a little longer to wake up from. While you are playing plugs and cables it give it enough time to come out of hibernation.

\015\012When the computer is in this mode the USB ports turn off which disables keyboard and mouse so the only way to wake up the computer is to press the power button on the computer itself.

\015\012One tell tale sign a computer is in hibernation is that the power light on the computer will slowly blink.
