Having problems with your Dell A215 Computer Speakers ?

Static noise coming out of speakers

\015 I have a loud static noise coming out of my computer speakers. I know its not the speakers themselves. I plugged in head phones and the noise is still there. When I play music the static drowns out the music and the song sounds horrible in the background. What is this? Sound card?\015

Answers :

What sort of computer do you have? Is it a laptop or desktop? Many\015\012laptops have this problem and it is quite widespread in laptops. The\015\012crackling or humming noise could be a result of interference from the\015\012mains power signal.
\015\012If it's a laptop, try running it on battery alone (take out the mains\015\012power cord). My laptop has this kind of noise in speakers when running\015\012on mains electrical supply, but it goes away like magic when I run it\015\012on battery.
\015\012A more long-term solution is to buy a 'Ground Loop Isolator' and insert\015\012it between your computer and the speakers/earphones. They are quite\015\012cheap and you could get it for under £10. It removes all static noise\015\012and you'll hear crystal clear sound.
I found this post looking for an answer - I had tried disconnecting everything possible, closing windows, restarting etc...but hitting my laptop worked!!!
