Having problems with your Compaq Presario S5100NX (E120866) PC Desktop ?

Sound i dont have any sound from my computer.can you help me?what i can do with this problem? I have a Compaq Presario S5100NX. I have plugged in power speakers but I don' t have sound. I know that the speakers work. I received this computer from someone else and I assume that it had sound. The sound device says that it is working properly. I am running IE8, my OS is Windows NT. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answers :

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, then double click the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon. Make sure the Mute box isn't checked and the Volume bar is at least 1/2 way on the Volume tab. Also click the Speaker Volume tab and adjust the sound there as well if needed. You might also want to check the "Place volume icon in the taskbar" icon so you can easily adjust the sound settings next time.
