Hardware malfunction dear sir/madam, i have a copmaq armada e500 laptop whic is not working properly. when it is started after one minute its screen gives the statment that "hardaware malfunction, nmi:channel check/IOCHK THE SYSTEM HAS HALTED." plz guide me that how i solve this problem as i am unable to use my laptop due to this problem.

\015\012 Solution is Replace the defective RAM module.
\015\012The memory for this laptop is located under the keyboard. You would have to open the keyboard and replace the faulty memory module.

Sounds like the hard drive went bad. Only way to really know is to wipe out the drive and restore the laptop back to factory defaults. If the laptop can't restore then at that point replace the hard drive with a new one or a known working one and then restore it again and it should go thru.
