Netbook touch pad quit working after attaching a USB mouse

\015 Recently purchased a Netbook - Eee PC 900HD. The touch pad worked fine until I attached a USB mouse; it no longer responds weather the mouse is present or not. \015\012The only settings I've changed are desktop properties. I downloaded the latest updates from the Asus website and installed those. One of which was for the touch pad. To undo that installation, I need to extract a file from the support DVD that came with the Netbook, but discovered that the DVD is blank. \015\012I cannot find a tech support number for Asus in my user manuel or on the website. I have left them an email but recieved no response yet.\015
