Subwoofer Emits a Buzzing Tone

\015 This is an Altec Lansing speaker I've been using for a few years. A couple of days ago my motherboard died, and I replaced it right away. Shortly after, I started hearing a faint buzzing noise from the subwoofer; it's definitly distracting.I've tried to the following things:*There is a power button on one of the speakers, turning off the power by those means does not stop the buzzing.*Unplugging the speaker from the AC altogether does stop the buzzing (obviously).*Unplugging the speaker from the computer does not stop the buzzing.*Muting or turning down the volume on the computer does not stop the buzzing.Does anyone know how I can fix this? Any suggestions are appreciated.\015

The 2200 uF capacitor in the power supply has gone bad and the humming is a 60 Hz from the rectification of AC to 18 vDC.  Either get a new power supply or take apart the power supply and replace the bad cap.

It was off this morning so i turned it back on, noticing it had tripped the circuit switch on the power board. i've tried uplugging everything, all connections to it and re-booting the PC. I unplugged it completely and tried it in a different power source. it still emitts this noise, even when the input is not connected to anything. Can you please help? Nick
