Having problems with your Altec Lansing ADA 885 Computer Speakers ?

Subwoofer fuse 'holder' missing.

\015 I have an old (late 1990's?) Altec Lansing ADA885 desktop computer speaker system which is missing the fuse holder on its subwoofer. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement part, or perhaps some way of bypassing it in any way? \015\012Thank you!\015

Answers :

Tape or solder a piece of metal across where the fuze and holder would go.
go to radio shack, pick up a small cartridge style fuze holder and an appropriate replacement fuze. (if you dont have the original fuze, dont bother with this method) Open the box or case to gain access to the circuit board. solder a new holder to the contacts.

Be aware that I have no clue what the fuze holder on that particular model looks like.

Lost my fuse + fuse cap for altec Lansing 621 during a move, does anyone know a place to get one and part #? I would assume they are still using the same fuse cap and fuse in most their other models so if you've had the same problem but with a different model please do tell, atleast it will give me a lead. I haven't yet hauled the subwoofer to radio shack but given their limited selection I doubt they would have what I'm looking for. Altec Lansing themselves have provided no help. Thanks a lot,
