PXE-E61 Media Test Failure PXE-M0F Exiting PXE ROM

\015 I am getting this error, have checked the HD connection and everything is tight. After resetting the boot order to the default (HD, DVD, then Network) I still get this error. The odd thing here is that when selecting the boot order my HD and DVD models don't show up. They are represented by IDE-0 and IDE-1. After 10 or 15 reboot attempts (and one time where the screen was scrambled) the drives actually showed up and the models were listed in BIOS. The system booted up great and I thought that I solved the problem. Later in the evening I needed to install a Vista update which required a reboot and it started back up ok. Then, after closing the lid on the laptop, we get the same error again. It makes sense to assume that the drives are ok but just aren't being recognized when booting up. Let me know if you could help me out. Also, My HD was recently replaced and I occasionally hear something moving around in the computer. I sounds like a piece of plastic is loose and is either hitting one of the fans or a piece of the fan broke off. Not sure if this could of caused something to loosen up on the board and I have read of another person having the same issue with the error and a rattle sound. Perhaps this is just a coincidence.\015

The laptop not recognizing the boot devices except the network boot that it found but there was no connection so it exit the pxe rom. first you need to open up the laptop and see what is running around inside maybe metal and your in for trouble if its metal maybe screw or so. second and this will hurt but you may need a new motherboard.but first lets get the object out.metal or plastic so you'll need to pull down the laptop and take the cmos battery out for abit .put the laptop back together replace the cmos battery leave out the hard drive and the optical drive (cdrom, dvdrom) then turn the laptop on wait for it to boot then turn off. replace cdrom with bootable cd inside restart. if it boots your in luck.turn off replace hard drive and restart. If all goes well and your able to boot to hard do this first download the bios flash for you laptop at toshiba site only at toshiba site and only your specific laptop model. read the readme file that come attached follow the instructions. then you can do you upgrade that you wanted to do all along
