Having problems with your PC Laptops ?

I what order do I remove the screws to remove the back cover to replace the power jack???

Answers :

No, not even!

You have to completely disassemble the laptop, down to the bare motherboard in your hand!

Involves removing all electrical sources first. Battery and AC adapter, (Charger) You should buy a cheap ESD wrist strap, and use it. (About $5 to $7)
Remove the harddrive, remove the CD/DVD drive, remove the ram memory, remove all screws from the bottom, then flip the laptop over.

[TIPS: Use a clean egg carton, label each egg holder for where the various crews came from. There may be as many as 13 different kinds of screws, and 50 of them. Some look REAL close to others, but are NOT. DO NOT mix them up! The threads are different, and so is the size. Also use a digital camera to make a photo journal, for when you go to reassemble]

Now remove the LCD LED lamp display strip in front of the keypad,

(Also known as Keyboard. This LCD LED lamp display strip is right under the LCD screen, and up above the keypad)), (Sometimes this is just a plastic strip, that also covers the LCD screen hinges. Depends on what laptop it is)
Remove the keypad.

Remove any metal shields underneath. Remove any screws that screw down the LCD screen hinges.

Go to the back of the laptop, remove any rubber caps that hide LCD screen hinge screws. Remove those screws.
Come back to the front, and carefully disconnect the LCD screen signal wire/s, and the Antenna wire that goes to the WLAN card. No go back to the bottom side, and remove the WLAN card.

Remove the Cooling Tube assembly. Remove the processor, and store in an anti-static environment. Remove the last of the screws out of the motherboard that retain it to the bottom cover.

If I knew what laptop this was, I MAY be able to find a Maintenance and Service Guide for it. It shows you, and tells you, how to disassemble step by step.
You may not see anything happening after you click on the above link. Give it 30 seconds or so to download]

TIPS: DO USE an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to a good ground source. I use an empty desktop computer case, and connect it to the metal frame. DO NOT connect it to the ground lug in a wall receptacle. (NO!)
Your body carries Static electricity. Static electricity will silently fry out, your delicate computer hardware components. You won't see it, or feel it.
POOF!, and you won't know it even happened!

Use a low heat soldering iron. About 45 watts. A inexpensive soldering station would be much better. Use soldering wick instead of a desoldering tool. Is much easier to use, and cleaner. Clean the motherboard area with Isopropyl alcohol, and Q-tips after you take the DC Power Jack out.
->USE CAUTION as Isopropyl alcohol is Flammable!
Don't linger when you are desoldering that jack. You'll burn the motherboard rendering it useless! You can lift the circuit traces right off of the board!

That depends on the model and make of the laptop
