I have a Dell D600 laptop and just put a brand new battery in it. However, the new battery is not charging and the battery light still flashes green 3 times and then flashes red once, then green 3 times, and then red once, on and on. I know that the battery is good because I just purchased it. I have tried several times to reseat the battery, however I can't get the laptop to recognize it and recharge it. What do you recommend?

My computer just put a new motherboard in and it still won't work. The original didn't even show the battery light flash when off, this new one does. I however still can't power up the computer the light comes on and then I see 3 lights flash and then off again. Is it just my battery needs time to charge or what? The motherboard was tested good by the person I bought it from 2 days ago before they shipped it.
