\015 Our investment club uses a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Vista for our Optoma Model #EP 716 LCD projector. We loaned the two out to a larger group for presentations, and now we have the following problem: The wallpaper is all that we see on the screen on the wall; no icons are visible. We are unable to use the programs, access the internet, or figure a way to fix this problem. Have gone to the Display settings: know that monitor 1 is the computer screen; know that monitor 2 is the wall screen. Know that setting #2 is Generic PnP Monitor on ATI Radeon X1200. Know that "Extend the desktop onto this monitor" is checked. Know that the resolution is low (800 X 600 pixels). Know that the colors are Highest (32bit). Know that when I go to shut off, lamp signal comes up. Next to it: "Picture mute." Thanks for helping.\015
Extending ur desktop means creating an extra monitor-space to strech ur desktop width, which means you can actually see your mouse pointer waving throught both screens when u slide it. If you want to have the same display on monitor 2 as with monitor 1, you should choose the option 'clone' to display identical items on two screens. If the option is not available in your software then maybe you can download a third party software from download.com or something to have it done.
Have you already done a vista repair on this unit.Do you get the same result in safemode
