Running slow - want to restore factory settings

\015 My Tosh laptop is running really really slowly and I feel it would benefit from restoring factory settings. I do not have any disks woth the machine but was hoping that there may b something partitioned somewhere to help recover the system\015

In some cases, when the laptop first starts booting you'll see an option something like 'Press F11 for system restore'. If your laptop doesn't show this option on boot, the only way to reinstall the operating system is with the installation disks. Alternatively, you could scan your computer for viruses, run a disk defragmentation by opening up the 'My Computer' icon, right clicking on your storage drive and selecting 'Properties'. Once in the properties menu select the 'Tools' tab at the top and run the disk defragmentor. If it doesn't run properly, run the 'Error Checking' utility from the same menu.
Also be sure that your hard drive isn't completely full, as Microsoft operating systems use a part of your free space as paging memory.
