Having problems with your Computer Processors ?

My processor has become slow and the fan sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't..makes a noise also...thanks

Answers :

Hello,

Replace the fan as soon as possible. The processor is running slow because it is overheating and the motherboard is cutting its speed to prevent the processor from burning up. Many motherboards have this throttling built in, they first try to make the fan go faster, if that does not work the board drops the speed to try to reduce the temp. be sure to check the fan in the power supply too, that one can also make a lot of noise if it is dirty.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Noisy fan Hi there - I have a Dell Dimension 5150 desktop and in the last couple of months the fan has made more noise and not only that - when I look in TASK MANAGER - my processor is sometimes on 100% (along with the noisy fan). Are they connected? Sometimes - it's something called svchost.exe - which is hogging the processor. Are they connected? or is it two different problems? Apart from this (it's not constant noise - just every so often) - the pc works fine. Thanks - June

My Dell Dimension E510 is making a "whirring" noise. It whirls loudly when I turn it on, like something inside is struggling to get up to speed. The computer takes more time than usual to become operable and open programs. Then with the computer on, the "whirring" comes and goes, it is more quite, but more uneven. Sounds like it's going fast sometimes, then speeds up and back and forth. I've opened the computer and cleaned the dust out of it. That didn't help. HELP. VHS

So what could make "whirring" sounds in a computer? Motors. What has motors? Fans, Hard Disc Drives, Floppy Drives and CD/DVD ROM Drives. I can't think of anything else. It doesn't sound like a CD/DVD/Floppy drive because you would only hear the nois ... Dell Dimension E510 PC Desktop
